History of Us

Dan and I met through an internet dating services(yes we really did) in the Spring of 2001. We corresponded for a couple of months via email, instant messaging and phone calls before eventually meeting in person. I have to say that that first meeting was indeed inpressive. When I opened the door my date turned out to be much better looking than the picture he had sent me. Anyone who has dated from the internet knows this is not always the case! He must have thought I was ok too  because he did not run screaming from the front step back to his car.
After 18 months of dating, Dan popped the question in November of 2002. Of course I immediately accepted and  not wanting to give him the chance to chicken out,  planned a small wedding ceremony  (with the help of my friend Rachel) in January of 2003. We were married in the Circuit Attorney's office with a few close people as witnesses.
We quickly settled into married life and in August of 2003 our son Peter was born. We were both thrilled. Nick was happy to have a little brother around as well. About the time I was starting to get used to the idea of being Mom to two boys, I discovered that I was pregnant again and at twenty weeks found out we were expecting another boy.  I was thrilled. From the time I was a little girl I had always dreamed of having three boys and now I was set to have them.
In December of 2004, our son David was born just before Christmas. He was the best present ever. Unbeknownst to us during my pregnancy, David has a form of Dwarfism called Achondroplasia.  Although it is the most common form of Dwarfism, I had never heard of it until after his birth. After the official diagnosis a week after he was born, we settled into learning about his condition and started with the never-ending education of friends, family and strangers on the finer details of Dwarfism.  Although the Dwarfism comes with challenges for David and for us as parents, I truly thank God everyday for the wonderful gift of David.
In November of 2005, Dan and I decided to get married again. This time we got married at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton church in St. Charles MO surrounded by a our children, our family and a few friends.
Life moved along happily for us as our children grew. In 2009 Nick started Middle School, Peter started Kindergarten and David was finishing his last year of Preschool.  Which brings us up to the present.  In July of 2010 Peter started First Grade and David started Kindergarten.  Nick starts school in a few weeks.  I can hardly believe I have no children at home anymore. We officially have only "school age children".
And here is where I leave it for today. Check back later to hear more of the adventure that is Life with Uhle.
